YouTube Marketing and Making People Go To Your Site

What I'm going to talk about now are ways to turn your YouTube videos viral, that is, how to make a large percentage of the people that view your videos go to your site.

YouTube Marketing - First Method

Make a trivia video related to your niche, whatever that may be. Look up some trivia questions, facts about your niche, etc. and do something like a short game show video. Ask an easy question, then 10 seconds later, or what a reasonable time for the viewer to think about the answer, give the answer.

Then ask a harder question, and give the same amount of time for them to think about the answer.  Finally, ask an even harder question, but this time don't give them the answer. Tell them to visit your site in order to get the answer, and provide the url for them at that point.

Don't make the question impossible to answer, but make it so that the average viewer of your video doesn't know the answer. This will ensure that a higher percentage of your viewers actually go to your site to find out the answer.

Remember, people love to be entertained, and trivia is a good way to entertained people that are interested in the topic. They'll be kicking themselves all day long if they don't visit your site to get the answer. Ever had a question that has bugged you to the point where you had to go look up the answer because you couldn't take it anymore?  Well, this works on the same principle.

People can't not know the answer to a question that has been put in front of them. It's human nature to want to know the answer!

See, the study of human nature and how it relates to marketing is referred to as herd marketing, in case you're not familiar with the term. The more that you can understand and take advantage of human nature and human herdlike tendencies, the more success you can have in a marketing campaign, especially a viral marketing campaign.

How can you come up with good trivia questions?  Do a Google search for your niche's name + trivia.

For example, if boating is my niche, I'd search for “boating trivia”, with or without the quotes depending on how I want the results to come back. Another way is to search for facts in the same manner, i.e. “boating facts”. You can easily turn a fact into a trivia question.

YouTube Marketing - Second Method

The second method I have for YouTube videos is to film a short mystery video, and leave them hanging on the edge of their seats for part 2 of the video, which is at your site, of course! It doesn't have to be long, and you can do anything from reading it off a sheet of paper, to actually acting out a little skit. It doesn't have to be long, maybe 10 minutes or so, which you'll see isn't really that long of a time when it comes to making a video.

This method is kinda fun, and depending on your imagination, you could really have a lot of fun and success with this one. Remember to split the video into 2 parts again, to make sure that the viewers have to go to your site in order to see the ending!
