YouTube Marketing and Making People Go To Your Site

What I'm going to talk about now are ways to turn your YouTube videos viral, that is, how to make a large percentage of the people that view your videos go to your site.

YouTube Marketing - Third Method

The third method I have for YouTube videos is pretty cool, and is great when aimed at kids, who, by the way, love to watch video.  Here's what you do. Make a video of you reading a story, or short book. Use some excitement when you're reading it, become an enthusiastic storyteller to make it more interesting.

An example of this would be to film yourself reading “Little Red Riding Hood”, or another popular children's story. Put a ten minute “first chapter” up on YouTube, and then, at the end of that, tell them if they want to watch/hear the rest of the story, they have to visit your site. Put the rest of the video of you reading “Little Red Riding Hood” on your site.

Note: if you're going to do this with a kid's story, monetize the site with Adsense, as kids normally don't buy affiliate products.  Just remember to stay within Adsense's TOS - don't go telling people/kids to click on your ads, let them do it on their own.

Remember, people – especially children – love to be entertained.  Kids love having stories read to them, which makes this a great thing for everyone involved.  Plus, once you get them to your site, you can have other videos of you telling other stories up there as well, this will keep them coming back for more.

YouTube Marketing - Fourth Method

The fourth strategy that I have for YouTube videos is to announce contests with them. Let's face it, we all love contests, right?  Especially the ones that we have a realistic chance at winning, right? So, hold a little contest related to your site.  Maybe give something away for free, or something along those lines.

Film a short video of you announcing your contest, and at the end of it give them the url to your contest page. Hype up the time sensitivity of your contest. Make them feel compelled to go check out the details of your contest as soon as the video is over, or else they'll miss out.

Also remind them to share the video with their friends.  In case you don't already know, at the end of every video on YouTube, there is an option to share the video with your friends, that's what makes these things so viral.  Just make sure the contest is related to the topic of your site. If you're going to do it about your new internet marketing product, maybe you could give away 1-10 free copies of it to the winner(s) of your contest. The sky is the limit with contests, use your imagination to come up with one that fits the topic of your site. And remember, contests are FUN for everyone!
